Frequently Asked Questions
Am I required to purchase a meal plan?
All on-campus resident students are required to purchase a meal plan each semester, which allows student to share a meal, connect over coffee, and build relationships within our campus community. Meal plans and the dining program have been carefully crafted based upon student feedback to maximize value. Commuter students can also purchase the meal plan that best meets their need, and anyone can add Flex Dollars to their account at any time.
Do Flex dollars carry over from year to year?
Flex dollars carry over from Fall to Spring semester when a new meal plan is purchased for Spring. If you do not purchase a plan in the Spring, your Flex dollars do not carry over. Flex dollars do not carry over from one school year to the next.
Can I change my plan?
Yes. You can change your meal plan during the first week of classes in any semester.
What are Flex dollars?
Flex dollars make your campus ID card into a debit card. Use your card to make purchases, and the value is deducted from your account balance. You can add money to your account by purchasing Flex dollars at any time during the semester.
Do meal swipes carry over from semester to semester?
For those purchasing block meal plans, meal swipes are only applicable in the semester in which they were purchased. They do not carry over from one semester to the next.
Can I purchase a meal plan if I don't live on campus?
Yes! Please visit the e-Rez Life tile on your Oktaportal (click "My Meal Plans" under the "Housing"tab to review options and make a selection). If you need additional assistance, visit the Residential Life and Housing Office in Borromeo Hall, Room 131, or email studentlife@carroll.edu.
